Mason Cycling Club, along with Reckoneer.com, will be hosting the 3rd Annual Wolf Bouncer All Mountain Weekend on September 10th and 11th, 2016. This will be our third Open and Collegiate mountain biking race representing George Mason University’s dedication to mountain biking and cycling in Northern Virginia. The race will be located at Laurel Hill Equestrian Center, Lorton, Virginia, on Saturday, September 10th for Day 1, and Audrey Moore/Wakefield Park on Sunday, September 11th for Day 2.

Laurel Hill and Wakefield Parks are two of the most popular mountain biking destinations in Northern Virginia, consists of miles of rugged, forested single-track packed with short climbs, river paths, open fields, and fun switchbacks. The Wolf Bouncer All Mountain is a fully sanctioned USA Cycling race (USAC Permit 2016-2475) and will feature four (4) Collegiate events (2 x SD, STXC, and XC), and two (2) Open Cross-Country (XC) races for two days of excellent mountain bike racing.

If you’ve noticed a change in how things are being promoted, that’s because this year’s race is being directed by our new sponsor Reckoneer. This new change in management allows Mason Cycling Club team riders a chance to participate in the Wolf Bouncer collegiate events along side other schools representing the Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference (ACCC) within USA Cycling.

As only the second race in the 2016 ACCC collegiate mountain bike schedule, the Wolf Bouncer All Mountain event represents a 5-year effort to build a competitive collegiate cycling team at George Mason University. Now in its sixth year, Mason Cycling Club has been invited and participated in the USA Cycling Collegiate Nationals three times in all three cycling disciplines (Road, Cyclocross, and Mountain). This year, Mason Cycling is continuing to build its team in order to return to Collegiate National competition in 2017-2018.
